🎮 THURSDAY THROWDOWN (Every Thursday at 6:30 PM)

Free entry. Store credit prizes. A different game every week.

May is kicking off strong:

• April 30th – Mario Kart World (Nintendo Switch 2)

• May 7th – Super Smash Bros (Nintendo Switch 2)

• May 14th – Mario Party Superstars (Nintendo Switch 2)

🏴‍☠️ ONE PIECE CASUAL TOURNAMENT (Select Saturdays at 7:00 PM)

Dates:

• May 2nd (Pirates Party Event)

• May 16th

• May 30th

Entry: $7

Cap: 12 players (hard cap)

Start Time: 7:00 PM sharp, no grace period

Everyone gets:

• 1 OP-15 pack

• Promo packs

Additional prizing:

• 2 OP-15 packs raffled

• Winner Promo Pack

• Judge Pack raffled

May 2nd will also include Pirates Party promos alongside the normal event.

🧠 MAGIC: STANDARD SHOWDOWN (Saturdays 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM)

May is our Standard Reset Month.

Entry: FREE

Format: Standard (Sanctioned)

Rounds: 3, no top cut

No event on May 23rd (RCQ)

Prizing:

• Winner: Standard Showdown promo + foil promo pack

• Giveaways based on attendance:

• 4 players → 1 pack raffled

• 8 players → 2 packs raffled

Tie for 1st will be decided by a playoff match.

Low pressure. Come test decks and help rebuild Standard.

🧙 FRIDAY NIGHT COMMANDER (Every Friday at 6:00 PM)

Open play Commander. No rounds. No standings. Just show up and play.

Entry: Free

Optional Paid Track available

Each week:

• 1 Mark for checking in

• 1 Mark for playing a game

Free Track rewards:

• Promo packs every 2 Marks

• 6 Marks → Foil Promo

• 10 Marks → Foil Promo

• 14 Marks → 2 Foil Promos

Paid Track ($25 / $15 CORE):

• Additional play boosters

• 10 Marks → 2 Play Boosters

• 14 Marks → Collector Pack (or 3 Play Boosters)

End-of-season giveaway:

• Each Mark = entries

• Paid Track gets bonus entry for completion

⚔️ DUEL COMMANDER (UPDATE)

No official Duel Commander events in May due to scheduling conflicts and our RCQ.

Instead:

• May 9th – Duel Commander Test Night

• Free entry

• Counts toward Magic event attendance

Biweekly $25 events return in June (with one RCQ exception).

New season begins May 17th (Chaos Rising)

Key dates:

• May 3rd – Freebie Day (everyone gets a prize pack)

• May 10th – Chaos Rising Prerelease ($30, open play all day)

🃏 MAGIC: THE GATHERING FREE PLAY

Magic is one of our CORE focuses at Curiosity, and as such it becomes the default event whenever nothing else is scheduled.

Dedicated Free Play times:

• Thursday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

• Friday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

• Saturday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (room permitting)

• Sunday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (room permitting)

Bring a deck, meet players, and get games in anytime.

📦 WHY EVENTS MATTER

Attending events directly impacts what we are able to bring into the store.

The more players we have showing up for a game, the more product we are able to secure for that game. This includes things like prerelease kits, booster boxes, special promos, and limited releases.

When you show up, you are helping us get more of the products you actually want.

We take that support seriously and pass it back to the community through better allocations, more events, and more opportunities.

If you plan on preordering products, make sure you have a Curiosity account set up and that your event attendance is being tracked.

CORE Support Members are always prioritized when it comes to allocations and preorder opportunities, but free membership is available for anyone who wants to participate.

If you want the best chance at getting the products you care about, show up, play, and make sure it counts.
