Video Game Manual Pricing Improvements Now Rolling Out

We’ve recently made some behind-the-scenes improvements to how our pricing system handles incomplete games, specifically when manuals are missing or present in different conditions.

In the past, some pricing decisions relied on percentage-based estimates when determining the value difference between complete and incomplete copies. While this worked reasonably well in most situations, it also meant certain titles, especially games where the manual represents a significant portion of the overall value, could occasionally be priced using incomplete data or generalized assumptions.

Our updated system now ties manual pricing directly to each individual game using dedicated market data. This allows us to account for the real value of a manual instead of relying on broad percentage adjustments. For collectors and higher-value titles, this is a major improvement, since manuals can sometimes make up a meaningful share of what defines a truly complete copy.

These changes will roll out gradually as we continue refining and validating the data across our catalog. During this transition, you may notice small adjustments in trade-in values and pricing consistency as the new system replaces older estimation methods.

We’re excited about this upgrade because it moves us closer to pricing that reflects real market behavior, giving both buyers and sellers more accurate and transparent valuations, especially for incomplete games that previously relied on educated guesswork.
