This post outlines updates to our CORE Support Membership, what is changing, and what it means for you.
First and most importantly: if you are already a CORE Support member, nothing changes for you as long as you maintain your membership.
If you are currently on a 3-month or 6-month plan and continue renewing on schedule, you are fully grandfathered in. You do not need to switch plans. You will keep your existing structure for as long as you maintain it without interruption.
What Is Changing
We are simplifying the CORE membership structure to make it clearer, stronger, and easier to manage going forward.
Effective immediately, we are removing the 3-month and 6-month plans for new signups.
Going forward, CORE will have two primary options:
Only $7.49 per month
Billed annually at $89.99
or
$14.99 per month
Month-to-month (card on file required)
That’s it. Two clear paths.
The Qualified Core Rate
Members who average $200 per month in spending will continue to qualify for a reduced annual CORE rate.
For new qualifying accounts, that annual rate will now be $29.99.
If you are already on a $19.99 or $24.99 annual qualified rate and continue to qualify and maintain your membership, you remain grandfathered at your current price.
There are no retroactive changes for loyal supporters.
Preorder Requirement Update
Previously, some member-restricted preorders required either:
• 3 months of active membership
or
• The purchase of a 3-month membership
Since the 3-month plan is being retired for new signups, this requirement will now be:
• 3 months of active membership history
or
• Purchase of an annual CORE membership
This ensures commitment and fairness for highly limited products.
Lapsed Month-to-Month Memberships
If a month-to-month CORE membership ever lapses or is canceled, that account will only be eligible to rejoin under the annual CORE membership option.
This helps protect the integrity of member-restricted benefits and prevents short-term cycling around high-demand releases.
Why We Are Simplifying
Over time, multiple plan options created unnecessary confusion and administrative friction. By streamlining CORE into two primary paths, we:
• Make the value clearer
• Reduce front counter complexity
• Strengthen preorder fairness
• Improve long-term stability for our community
This allows us to continue offering strong benefits without diluting them.
What Is CORE Support?
CORE Support is designed for our loyal guests who actively support the store and the community.
CORE Members receive:
• 20% more store credit on all trades
• 15% off all pre-owned products and select new items
• 70% trade-back credit on eligible games returned within 30 days
• One-day early access to sales events
• Preorder specials and priority allocation windows
• Early event seating reservations
• $1 in points for every $20 spent (up to program caps)
CORE is not intended for resellers or representatives of other stores. Membership may be voided without refund if misuse is identified.
The goal of CORE has always been simple: reward the guests who consistently support Curiosity.
These changes strengthen that mission.
