Friday Night Brawl: Magic the Gathering

Starting this Friday at 6:30PM Curiosity will begin offering a new competitive event with Brawl.

This event will supercede free play on Friday night, but is currently limited to 12 players. Please keep in mind this may mean less seating for free play at 6:30.

These events are also the only method to obtain promo packs going forward.

These events will be a $10 entry with 2 set packs of the latest standard set (currently Dominaria United) being added to the prize pool for each participant. (V.i.P members may instead opt to take their winnings in 5 points per pack instead).

Prize payment structure

1st place: 1 promo pack (may be a regular or premium pack chosen randomly each week while supplies last) and 50% of prize pool (rounded down).

2nd place: 25% of prize pool (rounded down).

3rd place: 25% of prize pool (rounded down).

Remaining packs, if any will be distributed randomly among all other players.

In addition, one random regular promo pack will be awarded among other non-winning players while supplies last.

The Structure of the Event.

These events will be held in the Brawl format, a 60 card singleton format with a commander (Legendary or Planeswalker) using only cards currently in Standard which currently includes Innistrad Midnight Hunt, Innistrad Crimson Vow, Kamigawa Neon Dynasty, Streets of New Capenna, and Dominaria United.

Games will be 1v1 best of 3 matches, and while Brawl decks do not have a sideboard, you may switch your commander out with any other legal Commander already within your deck for match 2 and 3 but must return to your original commander before starting a new game.
