Update February 19th: Added missing info regarding Starter Decks and Gift Bundles
Hey everyone! So, for reasons beyond my control, we’re talking about the Final Fantasy Universes Beyond set before we get into Tarkir Dragonstorm. But don’t worry—Tarkir Dragonstorm’s prerelease is on April 4th, with a full release on April 11th. We’ll be promoting that soon, but we currently don’t have any preorder details. When we do, expect a very short preorder window—so stay tuned!
Now, onto the reason you’re here—Final Fantasy!
This is the latest addition to Universes Beyond and, unlike previous UB sets, this one is Standard legal. Here’s the key info:

Allocation Policy
We don’t anticipate issues with non-collector items, but collector products will be allocated. Here’s what to expect:
If you preorder, let’s say, 100 Collector Booster Boxes, we’ll request that full amount from distribution. If we receive the full 100, great! But if five people each preorder 100 (totaling 500), and the distributor only sends 100 total, allocation will be necessary.
Here’s how we fairly distribute collector products:
1. Distributor Allocation Math
We follow the same formula the distributor uses. If we receive a fraction of what we ordered, we’ll allocate that same percentage across preorder customers. We also retain some product for in-store sales and events.
2. Other Product
You are far more likely to get Collector Booster Box(es) if you also buy roughly double that amount in Play Booster Boxes. While this does not guarantee anything, and you would still be responsible for the non-collector product, it helps tremendously with allocation and will not be ignored. The same logic applies to Collector Commander Decks—purchasing a case of non-collector Commander Decks will greatly improve the likelihood of securing Collector editions. However, to be absolutely clear: THIS STILL DOES NOT GUARANTEE ANYTHING.
3. Membership Priority
Members get priority allocation. Non-members won’t be excluded, but members have historical support data that factors into the next metric.
4. Support-Based Priority
We consider your support over the last 30 days—this includes event attendance and purchases. Specifically, for Final Fantasy, we will heavily weigh Tarkir purchases and prerelease attendance when making allocation decisions.
5. Overall Preorder Volume
Larger preorders will receive a higher share of allocated product. Someone who preorders 100 boxes will likely receive more than someone who preorders 4.
Final Thoughts If you’re planning to preorder Final Fantasy, be sure to do so by April 19th! And if you’re interested in Tarkir Dragonstorm, keep an eye out for that preorder window—it’s likely to be very short.
Thanks for supporting the store, and we’ll see you at prerelease!
