This past Saturday saw 10 fierce competitors enter the ring for a four-round Duel Commander showdown at Curiosity. With a $250 prize pool and some high-stakes matchups, the evening was filled with clutch plays, big personalities, and no shortage of memorable moments.

Round 1: First Blood

  • Adam Webb (Sorin) took a clean 2-0 win over Graham Beasley (Hylda), finishing with 14 minutes to spare. With his deck handled, he proceeded to speedrun “Vibing with Jordan”—a side quest only unlocked by early wins.

  • Jose Bahena (Light-Paws) edged out April Sprague (Kinnan) in a tight 2-1 win, landing the final blow with just 10 seconds left on the clock.

  • Calep Eddinger (Ketramose) secured a swift 2-0 over Eli Strickland (Mr. Orfeo). Eli fought hard, but Ketramose simply refused to lose.

  • Dustin Taylor (Torens) wrestled down Christopher Mitchell (Kambal) 2-1 in a match that went the distance.

  • Brian Shermer (The First Sliver) overran Dustin Rozier (Atraxa) 2-0 in 18 minutes. Slivers didn’t stop there—they stuck around for a casual post-game just for fun.

Round 2: Momentum Builds

  • Dustin narrowly beat Adam 2-1 with only 4 minutes left. Grit and green-white aggression carried the day.

  • Brian continued his rampage, sweeping Calep 2-0 with 28 minutes left on the clock. Slivers were still slivering.

  • Jose picked up a razor-thin 2-0 win against Graham, just barely getting there in both games.

  • April bounced back with a solid 2-0 over Eli, as Kinnan hit the gas and didn’t let up.

  • Chris and Dusty drew 1-1 in a match full of laughs.

Chris: "Eight hundred dollars doesn’t stop poison damage."Also Chris: "I’ll only swing half of the 400,026,000 creatures at you."

Round 3: Tables Turn

  • Dustin handed Brian his first loss of the night, taking a decisive 2-0 win and proving Torens doesn’t flinch.

  • Calep took a 2-1 win over Jose in a grindy and strategic battle.

  • Adam swept April 2-0, keeping himself in contention.
