This past Saturday, brave warriors gathered for a battle of wits, strategy, and questionable dice rolls. As always, the stakes were high, the commander tax was real, and someone definitely forgot their triggers. Let's break down the mayhem!

The Contenders and Their Commanders:
1st Place: Adam Webb - Kaalia of the Vast (Angels, Demons, and Dragons, oh my!)
2nd Place: April Sprague - Loot, The Pathfinder (Loot secured, victory imminent.)
3rd Place: Ricky Bruce - Zur the Enchanter (Stealing wins, enchantingly.)
4th Place: Calep Eddinger - Thalia and The Gitrog Monster (A woman, a frog, and a dream.)
The Highlights (and Lowlights)
"If a card tells you to do something and then shuffle, and you skip the first part, guess what? You still have to shuffle." – The deck must be randomized, even if your choices were not.
"Buy large dice." – An important note for those tracking floating mana like it's Monopoly money.
"No, Ricky, 'Please no' is NOT a counterspell." – Unfortunately for him.
"Commander tax is still 2, no matter how much you try to negotiate." – The rules remain undefeated.
Calep's game plan: Play Obscuring Haze → Crush April’s hopes → Lose immediately after.
Ricky flashes in Notion Thief in response to Adam’s Faithless Looting. The existential dread? 100% Adam’s.
April's Loot wins Game 1: 19-0. Loot was secured.
"Put sadness on the stack." – Calep, after losing Game 2.
"Judge went to eat. This tournament is a disaster." – The true sign of high-level competition.
Adam casts Ruinous Ultimatum. Board state now officially ruined.
"If you don’t remember if a land was played, it was." – We accept no appeals.
Thalia outpaces Loot. Somewhere, Gitrog weeps.
Ricky wins Game 1: 16-0. Theft and destruction: a winning combination.
April wins Game 3: 20-0. Loot intensifies.
Adam wins Game 2: 13-0. Apparently, counterspells do still exist.
Black Market into Blood Artist. The economy of value plays was thriving.
"Ref won’t stop dancing to Butterfly." The vibes? Immaculate. The rulings? Questionable.
Adam - DAMN.
"Did you pay the two?" A question asked 500 times, ignored just as often.
Angry Simic energy detected. Hydroid Krasis? Absolutely seething.
"John Cena enters the battlefield!" No one can see him, obviously.
Adam and April, the Big Shuffle. Cue dramatic music.
Adam wins Game 3. He had all the mana. ALL of it.
Ricky can’t count. 13 = 15? Not today, friend.
Calep's land destruction stopped by a counterspell. We have successfully reversed the nuke.
"Oooooo he said the F word." And there it is, folks. True Magic emotions.
ELVISH PIPER. Because sometimes, you just need a little help.
"Shadow is a great mechanic." Until it’s used against you.
The Winnings
Adam took home $70 in store credit, and April took home $35 in store credit. Not a bad haul for a night of battle and banter!
