Changes to Preorder Structures & Limits

As the distribution landscape for trading card games continues to change, we are making adjustments to our preorder structure to better align with allocation realities, product availability, and long-term operational sustainability.

Going forward, preorder limits and payment requirements will be based on product category and historical allocation patterns rather than a flat dollar threshold.

CORE Support Members

Customers who are active PAID CORE Support Members will continue to receive preorder benefits.

To qualify for no-deposit preorder benefits, customers must either:

  • Have been a paid monthly CORE Support Member for at least 3 months

  • Have an active annual CORE Support Membership

Qualified CORE members will be able to preorder up to the designated “member limit” for a product without a required deposit.

The member limit will vary by game and product type based on expected allocations and historical availability.

For most games, this will typically mean:

  • One booster box per set without a deposit

For Magic: The Gathering, this will typically mean:

  • One Prerelease & Play Bundle without a deposit

  • OR

  • One Prerelease & Collect Bundle without a deposit

Additional add-ons such as Commander Decks or accessories may still be available depending on the release.

Any preorders beyond the designated member limit will require full payment at the time the preorder is placed.

Please note that there is also a limit to the total number of no-deposit preorders we can accept for any given product at a time.

Once that limit is reached, additional preorders for that specific product may still be accepted, however payment in full will be required at the time the preorder is placed regardless of membership status.

We encourage customers to place preorders early whenever possible, as no-deposit preorder availability may close prior to the official preorder cutoff depending on demand and allocation expectations.

Free Members

A free membership account is still required to place preorders.

All preorders placed under a free membership will require full payment at the time of preorder.

Preorder Payment Methods

Preorder payments and deposits must be paid using one of the following methods:

  • Cash

  • Store Credit

  • Cashier’s Check

  • Bank Transfer / ACH

  • Bitcoin

Debit cards, credit cards, and Afterpay are not accepted for preorder payments or deposits.

This policy exists because payment processor fees are not returned to us if allocations are reduced and refunds need to be issued. Restricting preorder payment methods helps us avoid unnecessary operational losses tied to allocation uncertainty.

Any refunds issued will be returned to the original payment method used. ACH / bank transfer refunds will be issued by check.

Why These Changes Are Being Made

Over the past several years, preorder demand, allocation uncertainty, and distributor behavior have changed significantly across the industry.

These adjustments are intended to:

  • Better reflect realistic allocation expectations

  • Help us manage inventory commitments more responsibly

  • Reduce uncertainty around large preorder swings

  • Continue serving our community fairly and consistently long term

These changes will also help provide a clearer picture of product demand and improve our ability to manage allocations responsibly going forward.

Existing CORE Members

We understand this is a meaningful change from our previous preorder structure.

If any newer CORE member feels these changes significantly impact the value of their membership, we are willing to work with them regarding the unused portion of their membership on a case-by-case basis.

We appreciate everyone's continued support and understanding as we continue adapting to a rapidly changing market.
